Using Afterpay at Trade Tested
Afterpay is available as a payment option at checkout on tradetested.co.nz, letting you split your purchase into 4 interest-free instalments. Here's what you need to know:

- Payments are split into 4 interest-free fortnightly instalments
- You'll need an active Afterpay account to use this option
Afterpay payment links
Placing an order over the phone? We can email you an Afterpay payment link so you can complete the purchase that way instead of going through online checkout.
Payment links are valid for a limited time, best to complete payment soon after you get the link.
Splitting your order for Afterpay
If your order total is over $2,000 and you'd like to use Afterpay, you can split your order into separate transactions, each under $2,000. Give us a call on 0800 800 880 and we can help you set this up. Each order will need to be paid separately before dispatch, and all items will be delivered to the same address.
Why Afterpay might not be showing at checkout
If you can't see Afterpay as a payment option when placing your order, here are the most common reasons:
Your order total is over $2,000
Afterpay has a maximum transaction limit of $2,000. If your cart total (including shipping) exceeds this amount, Afterpay won't appear at checkout.
Tip: You can split your order into separate transactions under $2,000 each and use Afterpay for each one. If you'd like help placing separate orders, give us a call on 0800 800 880.
Your Afterpay spending limit has been reached
Afterpay sets individual spending limits based on your account history. If you've reached your current limit or have outstanding payments, Afterpay may not be available to you. Log in to your Afterpay account to check your available balance.
Product category restrictions
Certain product categories may not be eligible for Afterpay. If your cart contains a restricted item, Afterpay won't appear as an option.
Temporary technical issue
Occasionally a technical glitch hides Afterpay at checkout. Try refreshing the page, clearing your browser cache, or using a different browser. If the issue persists, get in touch.
Troubleshooting steps
If Afterpay isn't appearing and your order is under $2,000, try the following:
- Check your Afterpay account: Log in at afterpay.com and confirm your available spending limit and that there are no overdue payments.
- Refresh the checkout page: Sometimes a simple page refresh resolves the issue.
- Clear your browser cache: Or try opening the checkout in a private/incognito window.
- Try a different device: If you're on mobile, try a desktop browser (or vice versa).
- Contact Afterpay: For account-specific issues (spending limits, overdue payments, verification), contact Afterpay Support directly.
